What is counselling/psychotherapy?
Clinical psychologists and counsellors work with clients on a wide range of issues using a variety of talking therapies to enhance their wellbeing and/or bring about effective change.
Benefits of counselling/psychotherapy
Counsellors are trained to listen sympathetically without judgement so they can offer useful support and coping strategies to deal with all manner of problems, life events, negative thoughts, emotions, unresolved issues and stressful situations. There are several different models of counselling, which are used according to the individual needs and complexities of each client.

KAL BADESHA
Kal is a qualified, skilled and experienced Integrative Counsellor. She provides a service which offers individuals a safe and confidential environment in which to help understand their problems and explore alternative solutions in an atmosphere of warmth, empathy and respect. Kal is a Leeds University Graduate in Integrative Counselling and also a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

DR KAREN LEE-DONALDSON – BSc (Hons) PG Dip Psychology, D Clin Psych, C Psychol
Karen is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. Her expertise lies in adult mental health and helping people cope with long term health conditions e.g. persistent pain. She has experience of undertaking assessments, formulation and treatment of a range of emotional difficulties using a variety of frameworks: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy and Systemic (Family Therapy).
Her work involves:
- Providing a psychological assessment including the selection, administration and interpretation of formal psychometric measures.
- Conducting an in depth clinical interview in order to develop a mutual understanding of the origin and maintenance of various forms of distress.
- Provision of highly individualised therapy tailored to the client drawing on a range of approaches and theoretical models.

DIVINE CHARURA RMN, BSc Couns., MSc PH-HP, MA Psychotherapy, PGC Systemic Practice, MUPCA (Acred.), MBPsS, UKCP reg
Divine Charura is a UK Council For Psychotherapy registered Psychotherapist. He is also graduate member of the British Psychological Society. He has experience of working experience within the NHS, in the private sector and in the voluntary sector. Divine’s psychotherapy approach involves integrating a range of therapeutic and psychotherapy theoretical models in working with clients. He offers psychotherapy consultation sessions, short term or long term psychotherapy for individuals or couples.
Divine is also a University Senior Lecturer in counselling and Psychotherapy. He is also an independent Trainer and Supervisor. He is available to offer supervision to training psychotherapists and counsellors, as well as tailored training within the field of counselling and Psychotherapy. He has written, published and presented conference papers and book chapters on different topics including the psychology of love; transcultural psychology; supervision; working with individuals experiencing addiction; working with couples and families; working with young people; working with complex trauma; psychopathology and other complex life experiences or mental health diagnoses.
