I’m Dr Clair Stockton, a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in offering brief therapies for everyday problems and bespoke treatments for more complicated problems. I am professional but informal, providing an honest, supportive space where change can happen. I work in a structured way using all my skills to find solutions for your problems.
Brief Therapy (1-8 sessions)
I can help with emotional or relationship difficulties, making big decisions, tackling tricky situations, or coping with big life changes. I help you uncover your strengths and resources, find opportunities for change and bring it all together in a plan that works for you. I typically work with people from a single session up to a course of eight sessions using therapies that tap into your natural resources and help you to make progress towards your goals quickly and effectively.
Bespoke Therapy (max 24 sessions)
If your difficulties are complex, long term, you’ve tried lots of things before or you struggle with trust we may need to spend some getting to know one another so that we can work out a plan that suits you. I recommend you commit to attending three sessions. This allows us time to see if we make a good team, complete a psychological assessment, and reach an understanding of the difficulties you face and how we might best approach them. From there we can discuss a treatment plan so you can decide if you want to continue our work together. All my therapies are contracted for a specific number of sessions so you will always know how long your therapy will last, what the costs will be and when your treatment will be completed. I believe this helps people to move forward and make the changes they hope for. Bespoke therapies usually last between 16-24 sessions.

I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClin Psy) and an undergraduate degree in psychology (BSc Hons) and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL29244). I am trained in a wide range of therapies; my preferred approaches include Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology approaches. I use therapies that help with motivation, encourage you to follow your own values and interests, and help you progress towards your goals.
