Dr Imran is a dynamic psychiatrist who has is passionate about excellent patient care. She is an approved clinician and holds a substantive NHS position as a consultant psychiatrist. She graduated from Hull York Medical school, subsequently completed a 6-year training programme in psychiatry in South Yorkshire. She is on the GMC specialist register and is approved under Section 12(2) of the mental health act by the secretary of state i.e. has special experience in the diagnosis or treatment of patients with mental health disorders.
She has clinical skills and knowledge in a wide range of psychiatric sub-specialities including crisis work, community psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, rehabilitation, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
She is currently holding the role of Online CPD editor with the Royal College of psychiatrists, is passionate about medical education and has attained a post graduate certificate in medical education.
Her psychiatric areas of interest include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
She is passionate about recommending treatments that are evidence-based but personalised to individual circumstances. She believes in safe prescribing and co-producing treatment plans working closely with her patients and their families. She is committed to lifelong learning and reflective practice.
