Adrienne-Grant

Person-centre counsellor Young adults – older people, Couples

Adrienne Grant – Registered MBACP

Therapeutic Counsellor working with young adults, adults, older people and couples.

I am a compassionate and experienced person-centred counsellor dedicated to offering a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and explore what’s going on beneath the surface of your thoughts and feelings. Whether you’re dealing with bereavement, anxiety, trauma, low mood, relationship issues, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to help.

Therapy with me is a place where you can bring whatever you’re experiencing, without fear of judgement or expectation. I understand the emotional challenges that can come with loss, stress, and interpersonal dynamics, and I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can feel truly heard.

My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I won’t give you answers or advice but instead will walk alongside you with empathy and curiosity. Together, we’ll create a space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping you connect more deeply with yourself and gain greater clarity.

As trust builds, you may find it easier to approach parts of yourself that have felt hidden or difficult to face. This process can be challenging at times, but it can also bring relief, new insight, and a renewed sense of possibility. Over time, many clients experience greater self-acceptance, confidence, and trust in their ability to live authentically.

I work with individuals aged 18+ and couples, offering a compassionate space where you can feel supported in navigating whatever you’re going through. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), and I work within their ethical framework, with monthly clinical supervision to ensure the best possible care for my clients.

If you feel ready to begin, I’m here. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey.

Most clients prefer the convenience of sessions from the comfort of their home with no travel time. Research studies have indicated that there is no difference in effectiveness when online therapy is compared to face to face therapy in reducing symptoms.

https://www.counselling-in-leeds.com

I can appreciate how difficult it can be to engage in counselling for the first time or with a new counsellor. I recommend that we arrange an initial session to identify and explore the issues and concerns you may be experiencing, and your hopes for how counselling may help you. The initial meeting is very relaxed and just for you to have space to explore your thoughts. There is no obligation to continue further sessions at that point. You may decide you feel comfortable and would like to return at another time in the future or it may be a one off session, your choice. I know from experience that when you reach out for help, it is a strength, not a weakness. I am here to help you work through any challenges you may be facing.

It would be good to meet you and discuss how your problems are affecting you and how I can help. Most of my clients say they start to feel better after just a single session and around 95% feel they have made significant progress after six.

NHS waiting lists are 12 months. I have sessions available for you now with Footsteps Counselling via Face to Face, Teams or WhatsApp video call. To book a session call 07769156076 or complete the Tower Clinic Referral Form or email Footsteps123@hotmail.co.uk or info@towerclinic.co.uk

Reflect – In the first session I would like to get to know you and identify the symptoms you are experiencing, the emotions and the events that trigger them and the root cause by exploring your core beliefs.

Recover – This is not a quick fix approach. To achieve personal change requires lifestyle changes and sustained effort and commitment from you. We will work together to meet your goals of therapy and an action plan for maintenance of your improved mood.

Refocus – One of the biggest benefits of CBT is that after your course has finished, you can continue to apply the ‘tools for life’ you have learned. This should make it less likely that your symptoms will return.

How counselling has helped my clients –

“Many thanks Anne, with your help and direction this has been my best year. You really have made such a difference in my life.”

Our work together changed everything for me (the entire direction of my life in fact!
“It was the best decision I ever made to come into counselling. I didn’t realise I was carrying so much baggage. I have unpacked it all now & feel amazing!”

“Thank you for all your help this year. I couldn’t navigate life without you!”

“Thank you so much for everything. From being so low, you’ve made me happier than I’ve ever been about myself and more optimistic about the future”

Counselling Therapist

alexandercoy

Alexander Coy, M.A.
Counselling Therapist – MBACP (Accred)

About me

Thank you for considering me as your Counselling Therapist. My name is Alexander.

As a BACP (Accred) trauma informed Counselling Therapist I have successfully worked in private practice for many years working with clients from all backgrounds. This includes working with elderly clients, clients from multi-cultural backgrounds, neurodivergent clients and LGBTQIA+ clients. I am able to provide support to adults and children (from eleven years of age upwards) and I offer both short-term and longer-term Person-Centred counselling depending on your unique specific needs. I also incorporate solution-based coping strategies, drawing on elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) where appropriate.

You can expect a therapeutically nurturing, confidential, accepting and non-judgemental space to explore your individual experiences and feelings that are impacting you at this time. I provide people in need of counselling support with the necessary help to facilitate constructive shifts in their lives and to work towards meaningful change at a pace that works for you. I deeply value and respect the collaborative nature of therapy.

My training and professional focus is upon offering a Humanistic Person-Centred approach. This means a significant emphasis is placed on the therapeutic relationship so that you, can feel safe, supported and understood and, therefore, begin to explore and talk about the unique issues that are impacting on you during this stage in your life; secure in the knowledge that you are being heard by an empathic, compassionate, non-judgemental and experienced Counselling Therapist.

My experience of working as a Counselling Therapist at the Pathways Families in Crisis Centre enabled me to provide successful counselling support to clients who had experienced a wide range of challenging issues impacted by sexual, physical and emotional abuse.

My work at The Market Place (a children and young person counselling agency) has involved working with a diverse range of children and young people for over a decade with different and complex presenting issues; providing short-term, longer-term, crisis and bereavement counselling. I have extensive experience of working successfully with young adults and children who are experiencing emotional distress and often incorporate creative and solution-based therapeutic counselling methods to facilitate positive therapeutic outcomes.

My role as an NHS Clinician based at Mind-Mate Spa has also informed my knowledge and experience in relation to supporting people living with mental health challenges.

Art therapy and the field of creativity formed a significant part of my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and is an on going interest of mine. After completing my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Fine Art practice at the University of Leeds I worked at Leeds Arts University offering support to students in a creative therapeutic context. My creative experience and knowledge enables me to invite clients (those who wish to do so) opportunities to express and process in a creative way, to articulate and express feelings and lived experiences, because feelings and experiences can be processed in many different and subjective ways, including creatively.

A rigorous ethical approach upheld by sanctioned professional standards underpins every aspect of my work as a Counselling Therapist accredited by The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I use my experience within sessions by being curious about what is going on for you and what has happened to you, looking from different perspectives. Together we can work towards creating the change you want and need to feel differently to the way you do right now.  I know it is really scary being at the start of the journey but you won’t be alone I want to be beside you and for you to build belief in yourself more and more, because I have faith you can create the change that’s needed.  I know how it feels to be different and support children who feel different as well for lots of different reasons.  For this reason our sessions will be as unique as you.  They will go at your pace because you are in control of them.  They can be flexible and creative full of out of the box thinking and activities or calm and talkative.  I am open to looking at however the sessions needs to be to accommodate your needs.

I have been in practice since 2007 and am an Accredited Member of The National Hypnotherapy Society; the UK’s only hypnotherapy organisation to hold a register which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. Therapy Sessions

During your first session, we’ll discuss your situation in more detail, including your past experiences and goals, along with your role in therapy sessions. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and then we’ll move on to the therapy part of your session. This may involve a blend of Hypnotherapy, NLP and Counselling, combined with other talking therapies as appropriate. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach in therapy because everyone is different.

At the end of your session, we’ll talk about what you can do at home before your next appointment. I may give you an audio download to listen to, or you may be asked to complete other therapy tasks such as keeping a diary or practising self help techniques. These activities are designed to enhance the work done during your sessions and enable you to develop new skills and responses to help you achieve your goal(s).

In future sessions, we’ll talk about your progress since your last session and then continue with your therapy. Your sessions are about working together to help you make the changes that you need to get to where you want to be. Hypnotherapy, Counselling and other talking therapies have a good track record in helping people to make lasting changes. However, motivation and participation are the real keys to your success, so you need to play your part too.

Every situation is unique and people respond differently, depending on the type of therapies used. Many people see me for between 4 to 6 sessions and often notice positive changes after the first or second session and sometimes people may take a little longer. People often begin to feel differently within a few weeks and sometimes just a few sessions are all that is required. Just because you’ve experienced a problem or issue for a long time, it doesn’t always mean that it will take a long time to let go of it.

Free Online Consultation

If you have any questions or are unsure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free 20 minute online initial consultation via Zoom. This is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss what you’d like to change and how we can work to together. I’ll also explain the different therapy options and we’ll talk about the number of sessions you might need.

Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Supervisor
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma

Soula Poku, MA, BA (Hons), MBACP (Accred.)

Soula is an accredited integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and clinical supervisor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her areas of specialization include helping individuals cope with low self –esteem, life transitions and childhood trauma but she also works with individuals who face a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, relationship struggles, work difficulties or sexual concerns.

Approach and experience

Soula graduated with a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Leeds in 2013 and holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours from Nottingham Trent University in Education. She has worked with clients within the Community Mental Health Services for several years, providing psychotherapy to individuals in the charitable sector. In her clinical work, she engages with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Soula’s approach is heavily rooted in psychodynamic theory, but she considers all aspects of her client’s life including socioeconomic factors, culture, race, gender identity, sex and more. She draws from different approaches and adapts them in order to meet individual client’s needs, as she believes that we are all much more complex beings with our own unique history and experiences, hence why there is not a one-size fits all model of therapy.

Soula is a fully trained supervisor offering supervision.

Soula offers a free 15 minutes telephone consultation.
Daytime and evening slots offered.

Fees:
£65 per 50 minutes for counselling
£55 per session for supervision

Psychotherapist
Bereavement

Gurm Bacchus – Psychotherapist

BA(Hons), MEd., PG Dip Psychotherapy, MA Psychotherapy, MBACP.

I am a qualified psychotherapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I received my MA in Psychotherapy with distinction for my research study into psychotherapists’ experiences of working with End-of-Life phenomena (Death-Bed Visions, Death-Bed Coincidences, and After-Death Communication).

I work with clients on a range of issues including:

  • Bereavement, grief, and loss.
  • Coping with acute, chronic, or terminal illness.
  • Generalised and health-related anxiety.
  • Stress management.

I am also a volunteer bereavement counsellor at the Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, Leeds and the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford and have my own online blog on topics relating to grief and loss due to bereavement – please feel free to read and comment on the blog articles at www.griefandloss.co.uk.

How I work

I use an Integrative psychotherapy approach which allows several models from psychotherapy to be used whilst allowing me to adapt sessions to meet an individual client’s needs. My primary approach is based on principles from the Person-Centred model which aims to be non-directive and allows the client to lead the psychotherapy session.

I have also trained in and make use of the Provocative Change Works (PCW) model which is able to shift the client’s “stuck state” and stimulate new ways of thinking and feeling. PCW works equally well in coaching, business, therapeutic and personal development.

To book an appointment please call the Tower Clinic on 0113 267 2067.

Feedback I’ve Received

Just a quick email to say thanks again for the last year of counselling. Your kindness has offered me a safe space to reflect and work through my emotions. As you know, it has changed my life immeasurably for the better! Thanks again – Individual

I am very happy to recommend Christine! She is a very good listener with a talent for saying just what you need to hear, when you need to hear it. She has supported me to do the work I needed to do to move forward positively – Individual

Christine has provided a safe and non-judgemental place where we can talk openly. We have also not felt any pressure to divulge details which has created a relaxed atmosphere – Couple

Christine has listened to us both without taking any sides and doesn’t rush the session – Couple

We would really like to thank you for all you have done for us over the past 4 months or so. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without you – Couple

When I first saw Christine I was unsure on how to deal with my emotions and anxieties, and honestly, scared of the word ‘therapy/counselling’. I found it hard to talk about how I felt and thought everyone would judge me. Christine provided me with the safe space I needed. Not once did I feel judged or uncomfortable (like I thought I would). I cannot believe the difference in myself from my first session to my last. I am no longer the nervous wreck who is always waiting for my next ‘mental breakdown’. I know I will still have harder days, but Christine is there if I need to just check back in for a one off session. I honestly cannot thank her enough. I have a much more positive outlook and would recommend counselling to anyone! – Individual

Thanks for teaching us key practices to implement in our lives going forward

Christine was a very kind and calming presence, she helped me work through my problems in a non-judgemental, safe space. I felt like she really took the time to get to know me, she listened to me when I needed to be heard and pushed me when I needed to be challenged. She helped me develop some very valuable tools to carry forward into the future, and I know she’ll be there should I need to return. Thank you! – Individual

Our intention was for us to help deal with the issues of coping with our son but we realised after the second appointment that we had to overcome issues with our relationship. Thanks to Christine we were able to work through our issues and we are in a better solid place as a couple. – Couple

Counsellor
Children, Young People – Neurodivergence

Beth Hardisty

YBR Counselling – Learn, Heal, Thrive
Hello and a warm welcome to YBR Counselling, my name is Beth and I set up Yellow Brick Road Counselling to help children, young people and adults who are struggling with their mental health.

Being able to communicate what’s on your mind with your loved ones is the first step to looking after your mental health. But sometimes talking about your feelings and needs can feel difficult. That’s when counselling can help. Talking in confidence to someone who is completely impartial, who’s not going to judge can help you see things a lot clearer.

Children and Young People’s Counselling
Like adults, children and young people can find expressing their feelings tough. Counselling can help a child or young person to realise that when we talk about our feelings, our fears, our worries and our frustrations they become less overwhelming, less scary and less upsetting.
I work full time as a school therapist in the Leeds area. I have worked and continue to work in various different primary and secondary schools helping children and young people with their mental health by giving them the tools to enjoy their life more. Self-confidence and self-esteem can begin to grow once a child or young person is able to ‘let go’ of what has been bothering them.

Teenagers in particular go through a lot: school workload, physical changes, the increasing pressure to be socially acceptable. All these can, on occasions, be quite overwhelming for a growing mind and body. They have questions and opinions. They want to say the big things and the little things. They need ears that listen to what matters to them. If it matters to them, it matters to me.

I have worked with a lot of teenagers and have helped them to work through a range of different issues such as anxiety, OCD, low mood, self-harm and suicide ideation to name a few.
I can also see children as young as seven. Young children who struggle to express their emotions often find counselling helps them to identify what emotion they are actually feeling through play and creative tasks as well as talking.

Adult Counselling
Counselling can be a daunting process for anyone. Being warm, respectful and friendly are at the heart of YBR Counselling, offering these core conditions in all sessions allows you to feel that your voice is being heard and that you are no longer alone.

I promise to offer you:
Acceptance
Respect
Dignity
Understanding
Confidentiality
While giving you Responsibility.

In the words of Cheryl Richardson “People start to heal the moment they feel heard.”

Issues I have helped adults with include;
Addiction, Anger, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Self Confidence, Sexual Abuse and Trauma.
A real passion of mine is helping parents connect more with their children, I can help you to understand your child better. We can work through your own childhood experiences and how that might be impacting the current relationship with your child. We can Learn, Heal and Thrive when we delve deeper into our past, we can break generational trauma patterns!

A bit about me:
I began my counselling journey back in 2014 just after my second child was born. I enrolled on the Introductory to Counselling night course and immediately became hooked on all things counselling. I went on to complete the Level 2 and Level 3 in counselling skills which led me onto the Level 4 Diploma in Counselling. As part of the diploma course I had to complete a 100-hour placement which I did at a fantastic charity in Bradford, working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse. While doing my Diploma I started working for Place2Be as a volunteer children’s counsellor and completed my Level 4 in Children’s Counselling. The year after that, having finished my Adult Diploma in Counselling and my Level 4 in Children’s Counselling I completed my Level 5 in Children’s Counselling with Place2Be. I worked in both primary and secondary school settings while completing my Level 5 in Children’s Counselling. After completing this I had a bit of time away from the counselling world (Covid had hit), before getting a full time job as a school therapist in Leeds. A job which I adore.

I am a registered member (MBACP) of the BACP.
I am a member of the BACP Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) division.
I am fully insured and am also registered with the ICO in regards to data protection.
I am fully DBS checked and have completed up to date safeguarding training.
I’m also a dog loving Mum to 2 children who loves travelling and walking. My favourite days are out walking with my family (including my dog Rusty).

Fees
The first session lasts 50 minutes and is £45.00
Any session after that lasts 50 minutes and is £65.00.

Discounted rate of £480 for 8 sessions, if paid in a block booking (Not including the first session).

I would recommend at least 8 sessions of counselling; this gives time for the therapeutic relationship to develop.

Sessions are paid 24 hours prior to the session, via bank transfer.

My fees take into account, room hire, supervision costs, continued professional development, insurance, ICO registration and BACP membership.

The First Session
The first session is an assessment session and will include some information and forms, including the contract and GDPR policy. This is to make sure you are fully aware of how the counselling process works and gives us time to discuss the working contract. The first session is also a time for you to ask any questions you may have.

The first session for a child or young person will include the parent, as it is very important that both parties are on board and are fully aware of how the counselling process works, particularly regarding confidentiality.

Next Steps:
If you would like to know any more information regarding anything (no question is a silly question) please do reach out to me via phone or email. I can talk through any other queries you may have. If you decide to go ahead with counselling, a referral form would be emailed across for you to complete.

It can be hard to make that first step to therapy. I can offer you a free short zoom or telephone chat before booking so we can work out if we might work well together before booking an appointment. Please see contact details at the end of this profile.

How we would be working together to improve your wellbeing
I have experience of working with the wide variety of issues that people bring. While working with you I would be providing a warm, non-judgemental, confidential space where you will be treated with respect and can take the time you need to be able to talk about how life really is at the moment, why you might feel stuck, how things have been in the past and, importantly, we would work out together how you would like them to be in the future and how to maintain the progress you make in therapy so that life is better for you. We would review the therapy together on a regular basis to make sure that you are getting what you need as you move on in therapy.
I work bringing a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to suit your individual needs. These include relational, person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, transactional analysis perspectives and ideas drawn from CBT.

Neurodiversity: Autism and ADHD
I believe that neurodiversity in therapy needs a therapist with both a good understanding of the neurodiverse perspective and of the individuality of each neurodiverse person. I have completed training courses in autism and ADHD both generally and in therapeutic approaches and am an associate of the Aspire Autism consultancy. I have worked with many adult clients of all ages who have felt the need of support while reflecting on life in the past and its difficulties that may now be explained to some extent with a neurodiverse perspective, and in working out how life can be improved in the future with this new knowledge and self-understanding. We also celebrate the positive aspects that neurodiversity can bring to life.

You may be considering diagnosis, have been diagnosed, feel no need for diagnosis but recognise traits within yourself or perhaps you are a family member or friend of someone with neurodiversity wishing to understand more so that the relationship can improve.
I help couples approaching the same relationship, but from the different perspectives of the neurodiverse and neurotypical, understand one another better and improve their communication for the benefit of the relationship.

CBT
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

CBT –Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on examining the relationships between a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It challenges negative thinking patterns and belief systems that are causing you difficulties.
It treats a wide range of emotional, physical, and psychological health issues in people of all ages.

How does it work?
CBT focuses in on how your thinking patterns influence your behaviour. This helps to develop a shared understanding of the problem.
It looks at how you perceive yourself, the world, and other people around you.

The therapist will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours using diagrams and worksheets inviting you to explore situations outside of sessions by giving you homework tasks. This helps to monitor experiences of anxiety, depression monitoring mood and triggers to anxiety.

CBT searches for ways to improve your overall mental wellbeing.

Somatic Integrative Therapy
How it works?

The somatic approach is rooted in somatic psychology interventions drawing from Peter Levine’s somatic experiencing model. It is a neurobiological body-oriented approach tracking bodily tensions and symptoms and stress activations in the nervous system.

Somatic experiencing is a body centred therapeutic approach incorporating mind body and spirit in healing trauma assisting in trauma reparation.

Working somatically with the trapped emotions stored in the body helps to address their dysregulated physiology whilst providing techniques to help calm client’s nervous system.
Somatic therapy can help reduce symptoms of trauma such as hypervigilance, panic, anxiety, anger, and dissociation and shame associated with distressing events.

The therapist guides clients to better tolerate and manage uncomfortable bodily sensations helping them build greater resilience and awareness.

Holistic Healing Therapies

Bi-Aura Energy therapy
How does Bi-Aura Energy Therapy work?

Bi aura works with the body’s energy to restore, detox, and balance physical ailments and emotional states, within the energy field. It facilitates the body’s healing processes by removing stubborn blockages regenerating and improving energy flow, building a greater immune system in order for a person to help heal oneself.

This will facilitate a cleansing process of self-healing by flushing out the in-balances.

Sensation can return to your physical body when attention is focussed on mental material learning to talk about a crucial issue will enable a stream of energy flow.

Can be used to treat trauma, stress, and anxiety in conjunction with visualisation, breathwork and meditation promoting emotional healing and relieving physical imbalances.

Acupressure

Can be used to treat trauma, stress, and anxiety in conjunction with visualisation, breathwork and meditation promoting emotional healing and relieving physical imbalances.

Acupressure is a natural healing art applying pressure with fingers on specific energy points on the body (acupressure points) to help alleviate relieve pain and symptoms. The treatment is like that of acupuncture instead of using needles the therapist uses their hands. Emotional imbalances and physical pain are often a result of unresolved stored trauma in the body.

Daily acupressure techniques can help relax and ease tight muscles and tension in the body.

It is useful for treating abandonment, anger anxiety and panic attacks, fears, depression, abuse, worry, grief, guilt, and shame. Physical imbalances that can be treated are digestive issues, fatigue, nightmares.

Diploma – Seated Acupressure chair massage

Seated chair massage is an ancient oriental massage like Shiatsu. It is a meridian based therapy where the massage techniques stimulate the circulatory, immune. Muscular and lymphatic systems, energising the client and balancing the flow of energy throughout the body releasing stored tensions.

The length of treatments are approximately 30 minutes dynamically destressing clients and leaving them feeling totally re-energised.
Useful for both emotional and physical issues such as: backache, headaches, fatigue, anxiety, sinus problems, repetitive strain injury, asthma, menstrual pain, insomnia, digestive problems, boosts the immune system, removes toxins from body, reduces stiffness and improves flexibility.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness what is it?

It is a way of being aware and more present centred intentionally focusing attention on a moment-to-moment experience. ‘encouraging you to stop the doing and experience the being’ without being swept away by pre-conceived ideas, expectations or judgements.

Mindfulness stress reduction

Breathwork and mindfulness meditation helps distract you from constant thinking and worrying about possible future event(s) by focusing in your breathing and being taken on guided journeys enabling you to release tension and anxiety.

You consciously connect with what your body is doing expanding awareness of the sensations you feel. Focusing on the breath creates a more grounding experience in the body putting us in a place of non-reactive observation and stillness distancing us from racing thoughts.

Engaging in a series of simple daily practices can help prevent periods of overwhelm and unhappiness alleviating depression and reducing stress and anxiety.

It can bring about long-term changes in mood, help treat trauma, exhaustion, and chronic pain. Mindfulness is an easy technique for letting go of stress and ultimately finding more peace and balance in your life.

Learning these skills will change your perspective on discomfort and open new avenues for observing your problems improving your overall sense of wellbeing.

Children and young people

Creative arts provide a safe alternative for children to explore difficult emotions who might be feel too anxious to talk about their feelings or connect with their traumatic experiences.

Play Therapy -Creative Counselling Skills

Heline uses a creative Therapy toolkit in her practice with children and young people as it encourages situational awareness, self-expression, and the processing of emotions in a less uncomfortable way than talking. She also provides talking therapy to children and teenagers.

Creative interventions and expressive modalities help individuals communicate their trauma through stories using imagery, symbolic objects, clay, and mask making, sand tray worlds, paints, using sensory toys to help soothe stress and anxiety.

These mediums are useful for individuals with language difficulties or for others who find it too overwhelming to engage in conversation. Using creativity in counselling sessions helps you to process your feelings in a different way connecting you to your inner world of sensations and emotions which might otherwise be inaccessible via the spoken word. As paints flows so does emotion, as music sounds it eases distress promoting feelings of safety and security. Moulding clay can help with problem solving, stabilise moods making feelings visible through the emergence of shapes and creations.

Heline has used Play Therapy with adults and used sand tray work, music, movement, art, and many other creative techniques to help them explore and process their anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship conflicts. Play fosters a deeper mind body spirit integration and helps restore brain chemistry, reducing stress physiology.

Psychodynamic play examines how children’s feelings lead them to display certain troublesome behaviours that are considered symptomatic of deeper, underlying problems. Their play can reflect internal and external conflict dynamics, wishes and fantasies. The therapist observes the child’s interactions and dialogue during play interpreting ways in which they can achieve emotional balance and self-awareness.
Play therapy can be useful in treating anxiety, trauma, attachment, behavioural and relationship problems. It can also help children move through developmental delays and stages of grief.

EFT Practitioner
Emotional Freedom Technique – Adults

Jo Lee – Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner

#JoLeeEFT

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping – like acupuncture but without the needles. Energy points are gently tapped to connect the mind/body bringing about positive changes in emotions, thoughts and behaviour.

Qualifications & Training: I am proud to be an accredited practitioner with the EFT and Mindfulness centre.

About Me: Having used EFT myself for over 15 years, becoming a practitioner seemed the natural next step. I have found tapping to be an indispensable tool that has helped me navigate personal and professional challenges as calmly and positively as possible. I describe EFT as ‘emotional weeding’: rather than ignoring what is bothering us, we acknowledge the emotion and by connecting the mind and body are able to release it.

As an educator, I have run EFT workshops to support examination stress, deal with procrastination and to support wellbeing within the pastoral system.
I am delighted to be able to offer in person sessions at The Tower Clinic, Cookridge: a calm and friendly location to help deal with stress, problematic relationships or negative experiences.

I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

How I can help: Is there something that you want to let go of? Do you have negative emotions, fears or phobias? Is there a situation or relationship that you find challenging? Are you preparing for a high pressure situation e.g. an exam, presentation or interview?

We know that when we are under pressure we feel emotions in our body, think about the ‘butterflies’ we feel in our stomach or when our hands become clammy when we are nervous. Often we hold emotion in our body without realising it and if this goes unchecked it can lead to physical issues. The joy of EFT is that it connects the mind and the body, the logical and the emotional. We may ‘tell ourselves’ that an event is in the past, but then something happens and we are back to square one. Does this sound familiar? EFT can help with:

  • Stress & anxiety
  • Negative emotions
  • Challenging relationships
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Cravings
  • … and lots more!

What to expect: Information about EFT can be found at the EFT & Mindfulness website. At your first session, you may be a little nervous so I will put you at ease and give you a chance to talk a little about yourself, never feel afraid to mention anything that may help me to understand you better. We will then go through your Client Information Form and I will establish from this and what you tell me, how I can best help you. I will always encourage you to ask any questions before deciding whether to go ahead with the session.

Duration of sessions: The duration of each session is approximately 55 mins – 1 hour and the session will come to a natural close which may go over by a few minutes.

How many sessions? Some people, who have not had the problem very long or who have a good insight into their problem, may only need a few sessions. Others may have complex issues that are deep rooted that may require longer. It is important to give EFT a chance to work and if you follow my suggestions outside of our sessions, it will speed up the process.

Payment of fee: £60 per hour – payable by bank transfer in advance of the session.

Free Initial Consultation: Please reach out if you would like to find out more about Emotional Freedom Technique and have an initial 15 min consultation. It will be a chance for you to share what you would like to let go of or change and we can discuss what would be best moving forwards.

Cancellation/Rescheduling policy: if you have to reschedule a session, please give 48 hrs notice. If less than 48 hrs notice is given, I have to charge a loss of earnings fee of 25%.

About Me

I’m a person centred counsellor which means that I’ll work at your pace as you explore what’s going on in your life and what might be bothering you. I’m aware that sometimes we know the reason why we’re feeling a certain way but sometimes we don’t. Either way, my role is to help you to untangle and make sense of your feelings. I will help you to do this by providing you with a safe, confidential space without any judgement and without labelling. I’ll listen and be truly alongside you throughout the sessions as you talk about anything that you want to bring – be it experiences from the past, things that are happening now, worries about the future, or feelings and struggles in general. I won’t give you advice, but I’ll support you to think about any next steps you might want to take. Sometimes people feel worried about starting counselling but I hope to help you feel as safe and comfortable as possible.

I work with clients on a short or long term basis or anywhere in between. Most clients don’t know how many sessions they will need to begin with, whereas some need to agree to a certain number of sessions before beginning. I’m very happy to explore the different options with you.

I offer a free initial 30 minute phone call to help you decide if I might be the right counsellor for you. If you’d like to arrange this then please complete a Tower Clinic Referral Form.

JO MILLER

JO MILLER

JO MILLER – Counsellor for Adults, Children from 6yrs and Young People.

BA (Hons)., Dip. Psychology., PGCE, Dip. Counselling Skills & Theory

About Me and How I Work:
Hi. I’m Jo, an Integrative Counsellor with a Person-Centred base. This means that the backbone of my counselling is to provide a warm and welcoming space where you feel respected and safe. Our sessions will be judgement free and confidential.

You might be feeling ’stuck,’ anxious or overwhelmed, have experienced a loss or trauma or maybe you realise you would like to focus on your own wellbeing. Whatever has brought you to therapy, I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is key, in allowing you to talk openly and remain in control of what you would like to discuss, whilst feeling heard and above all, valued. We can then work together to find strategies which will help you move forwards in a positive direction both during and after therapy.

As our experiences are all unique, I may apply different therapeutic approaches to the therapy, depending on your individual needs. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt or Psychodynamic.

I have experience working within the Charity Sector providing counselling for a Leeds based charity, Phoenix Health and Well-Being. As a volunteer counsellor I worked with adults on a wide range of issues providing short and long-term therapy.

Alongside my private practice, I work for a North Yorkshire charity, Just B, offering 1:1 specialist bereavement support and emotional wellbeing for children, young people and their families.

My Background:
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a teacher and senior leader for over two decades. I therefore have extensive experience working with children and their families, but I also have first-hand experience of working in a high-pressured environment, how this can impact other areas of life and how challenging it can be to maintain a successful work life balance.

Additional Information:

  • I am a member of the BACP.
  • I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
  • I am fully insured and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
  • I attend regular Clinical Supervision.
  • I undertake regular CPD (Continued Professional Development) to build on my existing skillset.

Fees & Session Information:

  • £50 per 50 minute session.
  • Concessionary student rate is available.
  • Consultations are available via phone, online or face to face at the Tower Clinic.
  • I work with adults, children, and young people.
  • I have experience working with many issues including, but not limited to, abuse, addiction, anxiety, bereavement and loss, burn out, depression and low mood, loneliness, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship problems and trauma.
  • I offer both short and long-term counselling.

Free Initial Consultation:
As it is so important to find a ‘good fit’ with a counsellor, I offer an initial free phone consultation, which usually lasts around 20 minutes. This gives us the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for, how therapy may help and what I can offer.

Jodie Slee – Psychotherapist & EMDR Practitioner

With over 17 years of clinical experience, I specialise in helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of relationships, intimacy issues and the lasting impact of trauma. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and grounded in an understanding of how early attachment experiences shape the way we relate, love, and connect.

I have a particular interest and expertise in attachment trauma, sexual trauma, betrayal trauma, and complex trauma, as well as in supporting clients struggling with low self-esteem, chronic self-doubt, and imposter syndrome.

As a qualified EMDR practitioner, I work extensively with clients experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational distress. I also support those who have found that traditional talking therapies haven’t fully addressed the emotional and somatic impact of trauma. My work helps clients process and integrate difficult experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and restore a sense of balance and self-confidence.

Clients often seek therapy with me when they find themselves repeating painful relational patterns, struggling to trust, or feeling disconnected from their own needs and sense of worth. Together, we work to understand these patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop more secure and fulfilling ways of relating.

My practice is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in psychological depth. I aim to create a reflective, respectful space where clients can think, feel, and make lasting change.

1. Identify Root Cause: by decoding your language and past experiences the root cause will be uncovered, often tracing back to a critical moment in your life.
2. Reframe: Shifting the negative associations or beliefs to a new positive pattern which serves you better.
3. Test & Test Again: Ensure the changes have taken effect, by testing with past and future events to confirm the reframing has been successful.

Clients often begin to feel positive shifts from the first or second session.

I am professional but informal, providing an honest, supportive space where change can happen. I work in a structured way using all my skills to find solutions for your problems.

Brief Therapy (1-8 sessions)
I can help with emotional or relationship difficulties, making big decisions, tackling tricky situations, or coping with big life changes. I help you uncover your strengths and resources, find opportunities for change and bring it all together in a plan that works for you. I typically work with people from a single session up to a course of eight sessions using therapies that tap into your natural resources and help you to make progress towards your goals quickly and effectively.

Bespoke Therapy (max 24 sessions)
If your difficulties are complex, long term, you’ve tried lots of things before or you struggle with trust we may need to spend some getting to know one another so that we can work out a plan that suits you. I recommend you commit to attending three sessions. This allows us time to see if we make a good team, complete a psychological assessment, and reach an understanding of the difficulties you face and how we might best approach them. From there we can discuss a treatment plan so you can decide if you want to continue our work together. All my therapies are contracted for a specific number of sessions so you will always know how long your therapy will last, what the costs will be and when your treatment will be completed. I believe this helps people to move forward and make the changes they hope for. Bespoke therapies usually last between 16-24 sessions.

Free Consultation
I’d be happy to chat about why you’re considering therapy and if I could help. Please contact me for more information or to arrange a free 20 minute consultation. I work in person or online and will always see you as quickly as I can.

My Training
I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClin Psy) and an undergraduate degree in psychology (BSc Hons) and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL29244). I am trained in a wide range of therapies; my preferred approaches include Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology approaches. I use therapies that help with motivation, encourage you to follow your own values and interests, and help you progress towards your goals.

Dr. Aneesa Shariff, Clinical and Counselling Psychologist B.A., M.Ed., Ph.D.

Do you feel like anxiety gets in the way of you living your best life? Is it affecting your career, your relationships, or your ability to live in the moment? Do your worries feel uncontrollable? Perhaps you would like to learn how to manage your anxiety better and learn proven coping techniques that will help you to function better and feel calmer.

As a dual qualified Clinical and Counselling psychologist, I have the highest level of training and specialise in treatment of anxiety using a range of evidence based therapies, including CBT and other proven models. I have worked in adult mental health, employee well being, and long term health conditions in the NHS in senior level specialist posts, and continue with my NHS work part time. With over 12 years’ post qualified experience, I also provide clinical supervision to other psychologists, counsellors, therapists, and trainees.

I favour time limited, goal oriented therapy where possible, as I understand therapy is a significant investment and people generally like to feel better as soon as possible. In our initial assessment, I will work to understand the changes you are hoping to make, and share the recommended treatment plan and estimated number of sessions with you.

It’s not easy asking for professional help and opening up to a stranger about all the things that make you feel vulnerable. I do my best to create a non judgemental, warm, and collaborative space for you to feel comfortable, and regularly invite feedback at the end of every session. I am also passionate about culturally inclusive therapy and have published research in this area. I have also been interviewed by the BBC several times as an expert in culturally inclusive practice. In my clinical work, this means that I embrace talking about your religious faith, cultural background, spiritual beliefs, or any experiences of racism or discrimination, and will tailor the approach and techniques to fit with this.

To book a session with me, please get in touch with the Tower Clinic.

Surinder’s approach is focused on lasting change, rather than temporary relief. Using advanced therapeutic techniques, she identifies the root cause of your issues, whether they stem from childhood, past experiences, or even pre-birth and helps you reframe and release the emotional baggage attached to them.

3-Step Process: To ensures effective, long-term results:

Carla Forth

Sophrologist and Stress Management & Wellbeing Specialist

As a Sophrologist and Stress Management & Wellbeing Specialist I work with people who want to prioritise their wellbeing. I specialise in the following areas:

  • Stress management
  • Anxiety management
  • Sleep management
  • Managing depression
  • Managing chronic illness
  • Developing resilience
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Building confidence
  • Letting go of disordered eating
  • Proactive and preventative wellbeing coaching

I specialise in the above areas, some of which I have had personal experience so I know it is possible to overcome them. Although I see lots of clients who have other issues or goals that aren’t on this list, as Sophrology can help with so most things, particularly where stress is a component. So, what is Sophrology?

What is Sophrology?

Sophrology offers simple and powerful mind-body wellbeing techniques for a calmer, happier and healthier you. Sophrology aims to connect our mind and body awareness, helping us to feel more relaxed, present, and focussed and to deal more positively with everyday challenges.

Sophrology consists of simple exercises, including gentle movement, relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, positive mental imagery, concentration and sometimes sound. It is practised in a standing or seated position in a state of dynamic relaxation, which means that the body is calm and relaxed, and the mind is alert. No special clothes or equipment are required and it can also be done at home or work.

Along with helping to manage therapeutic issues included those listed above. It is used to prepare for future events such as interviews, promotions, exams, pregnancy and labour, weddings, divorces, sports competitions etc, anything where you need to prepare mind and body to achieve the positive outcome you wish. It is also used as a self-development method in which to get to know yourself much better as you expand your consciousness and awareness, becoming aware of self-defeating behaviours, blocks, and barriers, to help you meet your potential.

The aims of Sophrology.

One of its main aims it to empower the person and its strength lies in the ease in which it can be incorporated into everyday life.  It is a gentle and transformational practice that can help you meet your highest potential.  Its main aim is to empower the person so that they can become their own wellbeing facilitator and are free to practice the method on their own, to continue to see results.

What is a session like?

Sessions are one hour and usually start with ten- or fifteen-minute discussions, to talk about the issues that are presenting for you and/or what goals you are looking to achieve. Then we go into the practise of Sophrology, where you will experience exercises, tools and techniques that will help you meet your goals.

You will be gently guided into a relaxed but aware state, where we will do specific exercises to help you gently, yet powerfully transform, from the inside out, helping you towards achieving your desired outcome, reaching your goals, and achieving your potential. This part of the session is usually 30 to 35 minutes long, and we end the session with discussion to process your experience, which can be done verbally and in writing.

Sophrology works well alongside Talking Therapies

Sophrology can really help you to get the most out of your talking therapy session by helping you to become more embodied during the process, helping you to relax, so you are able to access parts of you that are available to you on the day.

It can also help you to manage therapeutic issues such as anxiety or insomnia, whilst you are having talking therapy, empowering you with tools and techniques for you to use at home, work, and the other aspects of your life.

In person or online sessions

I offer the opportunity to have either online or in person sessions. Online sessions are offered on Zoom and in person sessions offered here at The Tower Clinic. I work Monday through to Saturday, offering sessions from 10am to 8pm to cater for clients who are working.

What do Carla’s clients say?

“Having one-to-one Sophrology sessions with Carla has enabled me to experience relaxation at a very deep level. I have finished each session feeling physically and mentally at one with myself. When challenges arise in my daily life I can now use the different techniques to help restore my sense of balance and equilibrium. As a facilitator I felt that Carla combines her intuition with her knowledge of me to provide a session that is focused and extremely beneficial. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sophrology and Carla.”

Juliet from Leeds

“Sophrology has dramatically improved my sleep. I was barely sleeping at all, but after 2 sessions I found myself falling asleep quite quickly. And after 3 or 4 sessions, I could also stay asleep or fall back asleep after waking up in the middle of the night. This was by applying simple and straight forward breathing techniques and following the sophrology mechanisms that Carla showed me.”

Aline from Nottingham

Somatic Trauma informed Therapy

What is Somatic therapy?
Somatic therapy also known as somatic experiencing is an alternative approach that treats PTSD and stress related disorders with a focus on your inner experiences expanding your awareness of sensations and reactions that occur because of stress teaching you skills to regulate your autonomic nervous system. What is Soma? The Greek word ‘Soma’ means the body. Psyche is the mind.

Somatic experiencing (SE)

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a therapeutic body-based approach to healing trauma, developed by DR. Peter Levine, PhD. It focuses on stress related disorders by addressing the physiological and somatic (body) responses, symptoms to the traumatic experiences building in resources to help regulate the nervous system. Somatic experiencing uses mindfulness, breathwork, movement, stretch to help clients become more embodied in self-helping them to make sense of body tensions, blockages physiological habits that cause reactive symptoms when threatened by others in their environment.

Somatic mindfulness

The practice of mindfulness comes from Eastern traditions. The purpose of somatic mindfulness is to support nervous system regulation by practicing techniques of somatic experiencing. These include body awareness and body reading by tracking trauma cues, identifying body reactions and somatic beliefs about the self. Somatic experiencing techniques will include grounding and becoming more balanced and centred, orienting into the present moment. You will develop a better awareness of Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based approach to healing trauma, developed by Peter Levine, PhD. It focuses on the symptoms a person is experiencing working with the most dominant, overwhelming ones building in resources to help regulate the nervous system.

Polyvagal theory
What is Polyvagal theory

It is an approach in helping you to understand your inner physiology helping you to identify and engage with overwhelming emotions giving you the tools for calming your automatic nervous system and self-regulating. Trauma survivors often experience an impaired immune functioning leaving them susceptible to illness, experiencing reactive stress physical pains, chronic fatigue, diabetes, heart problems, automatic mind body heart imbalances.

The shape of the nervous system consists of two main systems.

Parasympathetic and sympathetic systems where pathways merge and are mobilized through social communication and connection in service of survival. The vagal nerve provides a crucial function transferring information about our inner organs sending sensory information travelling from the body to brain. A damaged vagal nerve struggles to send calm signals to parts of your bodily organs. Fear, anxiety and earlier trauma can overload your system sending signals of unsafety.

The automatic nervous system directs the way you experience your interactions, communications, beliefs, physical reactions and how you manage your life.

The road to recovery back from traumatic injury is through safety and connection and the practice of somatic awareness. The therapist gently guides the client to begin to befriend the sensations in their body with physical self-awareness being the first step for clients in understanding their dysregulation. ‘Where attention goes, neural connections grow.

Earlier relational trauma robs us of secure attachments causing disturbances in our sensory abilities with an inability to perceive neurological safety. This leaves us unable to distinguish whether situations or people are threatening, dangerous or safe impacting how we engage socially.

Body oriented interventions

Include: resourcing for strength and wellness, building greater capacities for coping by resourcing for safety. Monitoring and maintaining physical and emotional boundaries, developing regulation strategies that can be applied in daily life.

Somatic experiencing uses mindfulness, breathwork, movement, stretch to help clients become more embodied in self-helping them to make sense of body tensions, blockages physiological habits that cause reactive symptoms when threatened by others in their environment.

Somatic experiencing techniques will include grounding and becoming more balanced and centred, orienting into the present moment.

The effects of trauma

Traumatic experiences may have left you feeling overwhelmed and confused in many areas of your lives, the way you see yourself and think about yourself. It could have affected your self-image and created identity issues created disruptions in awareness and breakdowns of memories and perceptions leaving you with chronic stress and dissociative symptoms.

Understanding stress and its triggers can empower you to lead a more resilient and fulfilling life. adopting stress addressing the stressors in a pro-active manner.

The ways SE can benefit you are by:-

  1. Increased self-awareness. Increasing your awareness of your body sensations to stress will highlight what is making you anxious, angry, fatigued or overwhelmed. The therapist will help you explore your body reactions, tensions, and triggers enabling you to build in calming and regulation techniques to calm the activation. This could be through breathing and grounding techniques, acupressure or by using tapping sequences of EFT (Emotional freedom techniques).
  2. Psychoeducation is an education tool that the therapist uses to help individuals understand what it is happening in their physiology and how it is impacting their lives. they provide information on different types of traumas helping individual’s make sense of their experiences. Psychoeducation also explains the effects of trauma informing individuals about the emotional, psychological, and physical effects helping them recognize symptoms such as hypervigilance, flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety and panic, depression, and dissociation. This knowledge helps individuals reduce self-blame and fosters self-compassion as they understand that their reactions are adaptive responses to trauma.
  3. The neurobiology of trauma
Understanding the neurobiology of trauma raising awareness of how trauma impacts the nervous system and creates changes in the brain during and after a traumatic event helps inform them of threat responses leading to symptoms of panic, hyperarousal or numbing.
  4. Triggers.
Psychoeducation educates individuals about the triggers and reminders of the trauma. It helps them identify situations, people, places, or sensory cues that can activate traumatic memories that lead to distressing reactions. Understanding the triggers empowers individuals to develop coping strategies to reduce and manage the intensity of them.Somatic experience therapy- The benefits

About Jan Heline

Jan Heline is registered with Carolyn’s Springs Trauma recovery community as a trauma therapist.

She is a certified clinical trauma specialist and has a certificate in embodied somatic regulation strategies using a polyvagal approach.

Other training: Shame and dissociation working with dissociative disorders in clinical practice and a course in trauma and the body somatisation and dissociation and relational trauma.

She has studied Body psychotherapy, mindfulness and Bio-danza dance and movement at introductory level recognizing the intricate connection between our physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, and behaviours addressing psychological issues by working with the body as well as the mind. Body psychotherapy is particularly beneficial for treating a wide range of mental health issues including, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships difficulties and somatic (body related) symptoms. It can
also be used as a complementary approach to traditional talk therapy providing a more holistic and embodied approach to healing.

She has undertaken much research around refugee trauma and has worked as a counsellor at a safe housing service supporting survivors of sex trafficking, modern human slavery, forced labour, domestic abuse and forced marriage.

She has supported children, families and adults affected by domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, developmental trauma, alcoholism, and abandonment for over 26 years now.

Counselling experience, Training and Lecturer experience: NHS Mental health recovery skills trainer, working in a G.P’s practice as an addictions crisis counsellor, Student counselling service coordinator and school project manager working for the Place2Be and clinical supervisor to homeless management teams and trainee counsellors. Counselling skills lecturer.

Jan Heline draws on her personal journey of breaking free from childhood trauma and her knowledge of finding different ways to rebuild her diminished sense of self changing adaptive survival states which had become eroded by repetitive trauma.

The abuse perpetrated across her family generations has led her to vastly research the impact of repetitive traumatic experiences and how it impacts identity and development. She stives to empower others with hope and respect motivating them to recognize self esteem threats that trigger acute emotional states, helping them to examine faulty beliefs ingrained from childhood conditioning.

Realising some of the limitations of talk therapies she became inspired to adapt her treatment and assessment methods by employing a more somatic, holistic narrative in her therapy to accommodate language barriers, historical and cultural experiences of the individual in recovery. Influenced by a mind body neurophysiological approach she helps clients understand the implication of trauma and how it affects nervous system regulation drawing on Stephen Porges Polyvagal theory.

She draws on eastern wisdom, philosophies and spiritual rituals, trauma psychoeducation, acupressure, EFT and energy healing and somatic interventions for emotional release and healing.

In her previous role as a preferred training provider for Kirklees organisational development social care teams she developed various courses around child and adult mental health for health professionals delivering workforce development skills. More recently she worked as an NHS mental health recovery skills trainer developing course modules and wellbeing programmes around ‘Anxiety and stress management, Self-care and resilience, self-esteem and confidence building and positive mental wellbeing trauma informed training.

Being a certified play therapist, she uses creative and play techniques as an alternative embodied practice in exploring chronic trauma. She holds a BSc in Integrative Relational Counselling which compliments the holistic approaches providing a choice of either talking, holistic or somatic interventions.

She has undertaken much research around refugee trauma and has worked as a counsellor at a safe housing service supporting survivors of sex trafficking, modern human slavery, forced labour, domestic abuse and forced marriage.
